Accessibility Statement

Accessibility Statement

Diadora S.p.A. is committed to making its website accessible, in compliance with Law No. 4 of January 9, 2004.
This accessibility statement applies to https://wwww.diadora.com/

Compliance Status

This website is not compliant with the requirements set out in Annex A of the UNI EN 301549 standard due to the non-compliance cases and/or exceptions listed below.

Inaccessible Content

The content listed below is not accessible due to non-compliance with Law 4/2004.
To prepare this accessibility statement, we considered WCAG 2.1 standards. Test results show that some users may encounter difficulties in using certain pages or functions of this site, as they are only partially accessible. Below, we indicate the non-compliances and violated success criteria:

1.1.1 Non-text Content: Some non-text elements on the site do not have alternative text, such as the shopping cart icon. Other non-text elements, however, have inconsistent alternative text. For example, images on the HOMEPAGE in "Lifestyle classics" have alternative texts that state the product name but do not specify what it is.

1.2.3 e 1.2.5 Audio Description or Alternative Media (Prerecorded): The site contains videos without audio descriptions or transcripts.

1.3.1 Info and Relationships: Heading levels are not always used consistently across site pages. For example, the H1 heading level is missing in the WISHLIST.

1.3.3 Sensory Characteristics: In some parts of the site, technical specifications are provided only through colored segments, which are not read by assistive technologies.

1.4.1 Use of Color: On the site, when a user tries to register for the newsletter, if a field (e.g., "surname") is not filled in, it is highlighted only by the color red in the modal that appears. The same issue is found in the message submission form (both for company and online shop).

1.4.3 Contrast (Minimum): The minimum contrast between foreground text and background is not always sufficient. For example, on the HOMEPAGE, there is gray text on a white background in the product description.

1.4.11 Non-text Contrast: Within the site, some elements do not meet minimum contrast parameters. For example, the social icons in the "login" section do not meet minimum contrast parameters.

1.4.12 Text Spacing: Within the site, for example in CONTACT US, some texts seem to receive spacing between words but not between individual characters.

1.4.13 Content on Hover or Focus: In desktop mode, the menu opens on hover and cannot be closed via keyboard.

2.1.1 Keyboard: On the site, several elements cannot be reached via keyboard, such as the "search" function, cart, wishlist icon, and main menu subcategories.

2.2.2 Pause, Stop, Hide: At the top of the site, there is an auto-playing banner that the user cannot stop.

2.4.1 Bypass Blocks: The site does not contain skip navigation links.

2.4.3 Focus Order: Some elements are not intercepted in the correct visual logical order by assistive technologies; for example, in the menu, keyboard focus goes to many elements that are part of the pop-up menu on the right (without it becoming visible) and only afterwards can the hamburger icon be activated, the pop-up menu displayed, and the same elements used again.

2.4.4 Link Purpose (In Context): Generic links are present, for example, "Discover more" and "Discover the service" on the HOMEPAGE. The user might have difficulty understanding the purpose of the link.

2.4.6 Headings and Labels: The screen reader does not correctly convey information about product discounts (it never notifies that it is a discounted price versus a struck-through "old" price).

2.4.7 Visible Focus: The focus is not always visible, as, for example, on the HOMEPAGE.

2.5.1 Pointer Gestures: On the site, for some carousels (like those in the "complete the look" and "you might be interested" sections) in the mobile version, no alternatives to swiping are provided.

2.5.3 Label in Name: On the CONTACT US page, there is a lack of consistency for input fields in message submission forms. Specifically, the visible placeholder is written in Italian (e.g., "nome") while the accessible name in code is in English (e.g., "first name").

3.1.2 Language of Parts: On the HOMEPAGE, the paragraph "normalize high mileage" is written in English, but the language change is not signaled.

3.2.1 On Focus: In some parts of the site, during keyboard navigation, by scrolling through all the filters on the left side, at a certain point the page reloads the results without the user actually performing any actions. This also prevents the user from ever reaching the product selection on the page.

3.3.1 Error Identification: When a user tries to register for the newsletter, if a field (e.g., "surname") is not filled in, it is highlighted only by the color red in the modal that appears, but no error message appears.

3.3.2 Labels or Instructions: Some elements have inconsistent labels. For example, on the REGISTRATION page, the checkboxes in the "your preferences" cards have incorrectly associated labels. Fields with dropdown menu selections also have incorrectly associated labels, as the screen reader can read the selectable options but not the field name.

3.3.3 Error Suggestion: In case of an invalid email in the newsletter subscription field, the error is identified but no valid suggestions are provided. Furthermore, the error message is not correctly notified via screen reader.

4.1.1 Parsing: Some errors are present in the construction of the page's code structure, for example, on the HOMEPAGE.

4.1.2 Name, Role, Value: Within the site, there are several interactive elements lacking meaningful labels that can be enunciated by screen readers and/or do not have the correct aria-role assigned. There are also links without text, such as those for social media.

4.1.3 Status Messages On the HOMEPAGE, when the user subscribes to the newsletter, the "subscription successful" message is not read by the screen reader.
